Starting a Session

If your newly created Task(s) does not appear in the menu bar, please quit and restart Creative Command.
You can start a session in two ways. The first way is to launch a session directly from the menu bar, which we call Sessions On Demand. The second option is to schedule sessions through Routines, which we'll cover in the upcoming section.
Select a Task and Duration: Select a (previously created) Task from the menu bar dropdown and choose the duration.
Start Session: Click the "Start" button to begin the session.
Application and Website Blocking: Specific applications and websites will be blocked or allowed depending on your selected session type. This helps you stay focused by minimizing distractions.
Timer: A timer will run for the duration you selected. If you choose the Engagement Timer, the timer will pause when no activity is detected and resume once the activity is detected again.
External displays & fullscreen mode: When an app is in fullscreen mode, and you're using multiple displays, the app may not immediately hide when it is supposed to be blocked at the start of a session. However, rest assured that the app is blocked, and you will not be able to interact with it. If this happens, exit the app from fullscreen mode and attempt to interact with it, and then Creative Command will hide it.
A session will display three timers:
Active: Tracks the time you spend actively engaged. Idle: Tracks the time that you're not actively engaged. Elapsed: Tracks the total time a session has been running.
Timer Completion: The session will automatically end when the timer reaches zero. If the Engagement Timer is enabled and the system detects inactivity longer than the configured threshold, the session timer will pause. The session will resume once activity is detected again.
Canceling Session: There are two options for canceling sessions: Instant and Standard. Click here to learn more.
